Kitten Products
Adopting a kitten is a lovely experience, but it's important to remember that kittens are delicate creatures who require as much care and nurturing as a human baby. It needs specific attention to develop properly.
One of the most important things to keep in mind when it comes to taking care of kittens is the nutrition they need to grow.
What are the essential nutrients for a kitten?
The most essential nutrients for your kitten are protein, calcium, DHA, colostrum, antioxidants, and fat. Especially for kittens, the protein requirement is extremely high till the weaning stage. The fat content is a source of energy for the super-active furballs. Kitten formulations must also contain an appropriate amount of calcium for strong bone health. Apart from that, kittens need antioxidants for a healthy immune system and DHA for brain development.
A good kitten food facilitates your fur baby’s development on all grounds. The first year of the kitten's life is essential when it comes to nutritional health. This is why WHISKAS® kitten food is your best choice when it comes to kitten food that is well-balanced and contains all the essential nutrients for kitten growth.

Can you leave cat food out overnight?
Leaving food out for your cat at night will allow her to be able to eat whenever she wants, giving her more freedom. This type of feeding setup will also save you time because you won't have to worry about your cat becoming hungry while you're sleeping. Dry WHISKAS® 2-month-old kitten food is a good choice in this case since wet food can get spoilt if left overnight.
Which WHISKAS® food should I prefer in the beginning?
You must choose newborn kitten food that offers the right nourishment that a kitten needs. When it comes to WHISKAS®, all our cat food WHISKAS® kitten is prepared to keep in mind the nutritional requirements of kittens, so you can choose any flavour from our junior cat food WHISKAS® kitten range. Just be careful not to introduce a whole new diet at once. Slowly transition from the old diet to the new WHISKAS® food.
How often should you feed your kitten?
We suggest 2/3 calories be given to kittens through wet food and 1/3 through dry food. Refer to the chart to know the exact amount based on your fur baby’s age.
1. Age of kitten – 2-4 months Mixed feeding – 2 pouches of wet food and 18-40g dry food 2. Age of kitten – 4-8 months Mixed feeding – 2 pouches of wet food and 40-48g dry food 3. Age of kitten – 8-12 months Mixed feeding – 2 pouches of wet food and 48g dry food In case your fur kid only eats canned food, it is advised that you feed them four times a day. Choose our wet WHISKAS® newborn kitten food products to ensure they don’t lack nutrition.
Our cat food WHISKAS® has the correct ingredients in correct proportions to ensure complete nutrition either way, so no worries if you only give wet food or offer mixed feedings.
How do you introduce your kittens to food?
To avoid your cat developing an upset stomach, make the switch to the new diet gradually. Begin by introducing a small amount of new good kitten food to your cat's current diet, gradually increasing the amount of new food and decreasing the amount of the old cat food for about a week. If your cat is fussy, you might want to take a little longer with this. Try a mix of wet and dry cat food from the WHISKAS® kitten range to introduce variety.
